Making Sense of the Dream is a brief piece for fixed-format media. The piece utilizes tools native to RTcmix (Risset bells, multicomb filtering), StochGran (granular synthesis samples), and Audacity (editing/mastering). Formally, the work resembles an odd dream where symbols or objects reappear throughout different scenes and locations. These symbols/objects sound as bells and serve as gateways from one scene to another. Each scene embodies a different character and eventually builds outward to a climax on high and low frequencies. A final iteration of three bell strikes occurs, abruptly pulling the dreamer back to consciousness, clouding the ultimate meaning of the bells.
